7th MUHAS Scientific Conference

The Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) started as the Dar es salaam medical school in 1963. The school then transformed into the faculty of medicine of the university of Dar es salaam that in 1991 was upgraded and became a college–the Muhimbili University College of Health Sciences (MUCHS). In 1996, the Faculty of Medicine that was upgraded to a constituent College of the University of Dar es Salaam, with the aim of nurturing it to a full-fledged university later on was merged with the Muhimbili hospital to create the Muhimbili Medical Centre (MMC).Over the years MUCHS made significant achievements in terms of increased student enrollment and development of several new academic programmes. The Parliament Act No 9 of 1991 that established MUCHS was repealed in 2005 through the universities Act no 7 of 2005.Subsequently, in 2007Article 1 of the Charter of Incorporation established MUHAS; in line with the Universities act no 7 of 2005. MUHAS: Cancellation of Classes on 29th and 30th November, 2018

This is to inform all MUHAS students and Staff that on Thursday 29th and Friday 30th November 2018 there will be two important events to be held at the University Premises. These events are: 1. Convocation Symposium and Annual General Meeting to be held on Thursday 29th November, 2018 from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon. 2. Academic Price Giving Ceremony to be held on Friday 30th November, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm Based on the above, all classes sessions will be cancelled on Thursday 29th November, 2018 from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon and Friday 30th November, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm to enable students and staff to participate into these events. All Postgraduate students are required to participate to the Convocation Symposium as Alumni of this University The venue for these events will be Lecture Hall 4 & 5 at MUHAS Graduation Square.

MUHAS: Important Announcement For All MUHAS HESLB Loan Beneficiaries

This is to inform all MUHAS students that they are required to register for the academic year 2018/2019. Students who will not register will no longer be bonafide students of this University as per University Prospectus section 1.4 (vii) which gives the deadline for registration as follows: "The deadline for registration of first year students will be four weeks, from the first day of the orientation week, while for continuing students it will be the Friday of the second week after beginning of the semester. Failure to register in time the students will cease to be a bonafide student". Based on the above, student who will not register for the specified time will NOT receive their Loans and funds will be returned to HESLB as per regulations. ONLY register students will be paid their HESLB allowances. Click here to download the letter.
