IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS FOR ALL UNDEGRADUATE STUDENTS As we prepare to engage in studies for the 2018/2019 academic year, the University of Dodoma (UDOM) wishes to inform all undergraduate students (degree and non-degree) that in order for them to proceed with studies smoothly, they must have information on different aspects of the University. The University is located about 8 km east of the city centre, and is accessible by public transport, which is easily available from the city centre. Given the central location of Dodoma, UDOM is strategically positioned to serve applicants around the country and specifically Government and private sector employees living in Dodoma, who hitherto could not find training opportunities in the area. Such employees can comfortably utilise UDOM to combine work and study for their career advancement. Sokoine University of Agriculture was first established on the 1st July, 1984 by Parliamentary Act No. 14 of 1984 through the amendment of Parliamentary Act No 6 of the same year. Following repealing of the Act, the university is now operating through the Sokoine University of Agriculture Charter, 2007 through the broad framework of the Universities Act, 2005. The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) was established  on  1st July 2005, under the Universities  Act (Chapter 346 of the Laws of Tanzania) to succeed the former Higher Education Accreditation Council which had been in operation since 1995. It is  a  body corporate mandated to recognize, approve, register and accredit Universities operating in Tanzania, and local or foreign University level programs being offered by registered higher education institutions.  TCU  also coordinates the proper functioning of all university institutions in Tanzania so as to foster a harmonized higher education system in the country. In order to ensure that such a harmonious higher education system does not compromise institutional peculiarities and autonomy, each University has the legal right to operate under its own charter. Tanzania Examinations Board Explains How Schools, Officials Leaked Standard 7 Exams

The National Examination Council of Tanzania (Necta) said on Tuesday that the recent leakage of this year's Primary School Leaving Examinations originated from a storage facility at Nyanduga Primary School, Rorya in Mara before spreading to tens of exam centres across the country. Over 500 candidates had had to re-seat for their Primary School Leaving Examinations recently after Necta discovered that some schools had leaked the examinations. Necta cancelled examinations for all primary schools within Chemba District (Dodoma), three schools in Mwanza, one in Kondoa and seven others in Dar es Salaam. In Dar es Salaam, the cancelations affected Hazina, New Hazina, Atlas (Ubungo), Atlas (Madale), Great Vision, Aniny Nndumi and Fountain of Joy while in Mwanza, Necta nullified examinations for Alliance and New Alliance primary schools.
